What to put at the bottom of the cage is  a big problem for all the breeders. We are trying to find cheap materials, with no risk for our birds and with some benefits for them. There is a material that looks ideal for our aviaries and every year is becoming more popular,it is called Zeolites !!!

What are zeolites?

Many years ago, volcanos erupted and poured lava into the sea. The combination of volcanic lava, ash, and salt from the sea caused a chemical reaction that formed zeolites in the hardened lava.

What can zeolites do for me?

Zeolites detoxify the body of carcinogens (cancer-causing chemicals), toxic heavy metals (including mercury, lead, cadmium, arsenic, and others), viruses, bacteria, fungi, and acidic body conditions that promote and cause disease.*

How do zeolites work?

The zeolite's honeycomb-like framework of cavities and channels (like cages) works at the cellular level attracting heavy metals and toxins. In fact, because they are one of the few negatively charged minerals in nature, zeolites act as magnets by drawing toxins to them, capturing them in their cage, removing them safely and naturally from the body.

Where do the toxins go?

Approximately 60% of the toxins (trapped within the zeolites) are eliminated in urine and the other 40% in fecal waste.
